Boiron Offering Free Retailer Online Training on Homeopathy to Meet Customer Demand
Newtown Square, Pa., March 8, 2007—A common challenge facing all retailers is how to better help their customers understand the products sitting on their shelves. With so many products competing for consumers’ attention in today’s market, retailers need specialized tools to better answer their customers’ questions, especially when it comes to over-the-counter drugs and the growing demand for safe homeopathic medicines.
To meet this emerging need, Boiron USA is pleased to present a series of free online training programs designed to help retailers inform and educate their customers on homeopathy. Accessible at all times at www.boironusa.com/healthcare-professional/resource-library.html, each training program takes less than 20 minutes to complete.
These training programs help “demystify” homeopathy and help retailers communicate key consumer benefits in a clear and engaging manner, according to Christophe Merville, PharmD, Boiron’s pharmacy development manager. “There is a tremendous need for a program like this because a growing number of retailers have requested training on how to better explain homeopathic medicines to their customers,” Merville says. “I think this program shows that homeopathy doesn’t have to be complicated; anyone can take advantage of what homeopathic medicines have to offer if they know more about them.”
Homeopathic Medicines: The Basics explains the basic principles and guidelines related to homeopathic medicines; Homeopathic Medicines for Women’s Conditions focuses on cramps, pre-menstrual syndrome, hot flashes and yeast infections; Homeopathic Medicines for Allergies covers upper respiratory symptoms from allergies, as well as insect stings and eye irritations; Homeopathic Medicines for Cold and Flu discusses cold, flu and flu-like sypmtoms such as fever, chills, body aches and pains; and Homeopathic Medicines for for First Aid focuses on medicines that can be put in a first aid kit.
Initial retailer response to the programs has been positive. “It was a good presentation and brought me to realize the importance of homeopathy in natural remedies for my customers,” says Judith Brown of Health Plus in Elgin, Ill. “I would like to see more of these trainings.”
Boiron’s training programs combine the use of audio, slides and video to stimulate interest and help retailers remember important information. Frequent quizzes challenge recently acquired knowledge and contribute to the whole interactive experience. A personalized training certificate is awarded to participants satisfying requirements.
Retailers can download handouts, browse through the Frequently Asked Questions section for a complement of information, and also leave their comments and feedback, so Boiron can keep these training programs as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
To enjoy these online training programs to the fullest, retailers will need a sound card, and available audio and Internet access (dial-up connection, high-speed access or DSL). Adobe Acrobat is also helpful for the handouts.
